Aims
One aim of our project is to learn about the customs and
to revive them. We want to realise this through educational and crafts workshops
and through special leisure activities like archery, culture, folk art and
poetry. This is not only supposed to happen in theatres or museums, but with
the help of experiences in everyday life. Keeping the traditions is not the
most important point for us ,but learning from those who have left their marks
to tell us something about the world.
In other words : “ You shouldn’t follow your ancestors, but those
aims , they had followed.”.
The symbols people encounter and try to understand in art, religion, language,
ballads and fairytales, in ceiling frescos of old churches are not supposed
to decorate, but a medium in the development of human beings.
We also aim to help children and young people ( former
institution children ) , who live in flat-sharing communities in Keresztur
to spend their leisure time in a useful way and try to support them by giving
them the necessary knowledge and practical skills for an independent life.
From
experience we have found, that showing love to them and just being there makes
them happy.
Due to our good relations to German people and German
action groups, we consider ourselves as a kind of centre for developing intercultural
relations and cooperation.
Voluntary service, exchange programmes, smaller projects, finding of jobs
are supposed to enable young people to become actively involved in society
and politics. We want them to participate in year long social projects abroad,
to learn foreign languages, to get acquainted with another culture, to meet
youth groups from Germany in Cristuru Secuise and to realize common projects
with theses groups.
